2. Will I be forced to talk
about the sad times in my life? Do I have to tell everything?
My book is all about that. It was helpful for me to tell my story
to obtain closure and put it behind. But I didn't tell everything
and you don't have to, either. I will help you, so don't worry.
Before your book goes to print, we will review everything to omit
what you don't want in there and it can even be said in a different
way.
3. What if I or my loved
one does not live close to you?
I am very willing to travel to where you are. I will have
to charge 49 cents a mile for mileage. We can also interview over
the phone, and I can mail you, or e-mail each other. There is no
reason that we still cannot write your book anywhere with the technology
available. It will be easy.
4. Will I know what kind
of questions I'll be asked during the interview?
I will provide you an outline of what you will be asked.
You don't have to prepare for it, but it would be good to be thinking
about it and dig out old photographs to trigger your memory. The
questions I will be asking will be about your childhood, your family
life, your work, your children and any philosophies and family values
you want to hand down to your descendents.
5. What if I can't remember
everything?
We can ask other family members about certain memories. Very
often the children want to contribute funny anecdotes about you.
Be sure and collect momentos, war medals, etc., to be photographed
and inserted in your book. You can always contact me beforehand
if you have any sensitive questions.
