1.
A free consultation meeting is set up to discuss the scope of your
project and determine the cost. After that a contract will be signed
and you will pay 1/4 down or a $500 deposit. Thereafter, when the
rough draft is ready, we will meet to add your photos and images and
make corrections. Another 1/4 is paid then. When the book is ready
to go to print and meets your approval, another 1/4 is paid. The final
1/4 will be paid when you receive your book(s) in hand.
2. We start the interviews which can run anywhere from 4 to 8 hours
or longer, if you wish. At that time, I will come to your house or
anyplace you desire and we will visit. These will all be recorded
and you will receive the CD tapes or audio along with your book(s).
To prompt your memory, I will ask that you dig out old photos beforehand
(which you will want in your book) and perhaps other items that are
meaningful to you such as old letters, certificates, trophies, war
medals, old family songs or recipes or any other memoralbia
3. I will transcribe the tapes to written material. From there, I
will write, revise and edit until I have chapters of your life formed
and a rough draft. This may take any where from 2 weeks to 4 months
depending on the length and work involved. Then I will bring it to
you for your corrections, additions or deletions.
4. Once the book is formatted, it will be printed with a soft or hard
cover, whatever you prefer and perfectly bound. I will present the
book(s) to you.

PRICE
Each book is different therefore, the final cost will be dependent
on the length and the number of hours invested in creating it. Life
stories produced usually cost anywhere from hundreds to thousands
of dollars. My aim is to make this very affordable and I will accomodate
your budget. Usually, several family members contribute if it is going
to be a gift for their parents' 60th, 70th or 80th birthday. This
is an investment of a lifetime for all to enjoy. |
